Biographical Information (min. 700 words) Provide a brief biography of the person. Sources: Begin by reviewing their own writings for information about them. If living, locate and request vita and/or other relevant materials. If book or journal issue published in their memory, locate. Check books on history/philosophy/theology of spiritual formation, spiritual direction, discipleship, and/or Christian Education. Check dissertations, journal articles, about them or their ideas. If living and published materials about them are limited, do an interview or request an autobiographical overview of their life. Search in relevant databases for the person as subject. Types of Information to get: (As much as possible) Birth information, where they grew up, religious background, full educational background, who they studied under, dissertation topic, educational ministry experience, major influences on their thinking, teaching experience, people they in turn influenced, positions held, organizations they started or belonged to, death information. 3. Develop a summary of their contributions to the field of spiritual formation, spiritual direction, discipleship, and/or Christian Education. (min. 700 words) Locate and review other people's assessments of their contribution/influence in spiritual formation, spiritual direction, discipleship, and/or Christian Education. What were they noted for? Who did they influence? History books of the different fields, books that review various approaches to the different fields. Search for them as subject in relevant databases Books written about the person or movement. Give your own assessment of their impact on the understanding spiritual formation, spiritual direction, discipleship, and/or Christian Education. 4. Discuss the implications of their contributions on the ministry practices for today. (min. 600 words) Discuss in detail the implications of their contributions on spiritual formation, spiritual direction, discipleship, and/or Christian Education practices. How do their contributions impact how churches or ministry segments should do ministry? Be specific and provide examples. Be sure to make the connection between contributions and practices. 5.
